Design and Technology Assessment

Design and Technology Assessment at Gawber 

We assess the progress that children make in Design and Technology using the progression strands detailed by Kapow and the National Curriculum. Teachers make their judgments based on the skills that children are able to demonstrate  for each part of the design process and the summative statements for each topic. This helps teachers to identify if children are, 'Ready to Progress'.  Please find the corresponding documents attached to this page. 


In addition to this, each year group completes a knowledge catcher at the beginning of each topic. At the end of each topic children add to the knowledge catcher with all of the new information they have gathered throughout the topic. Foundation Stage and Year One complete their knowledge catcher as a class, and the rest of the year groups complete them individually.
