Punctuality

This year, we have worked alongside Mrs Bradshaw to promote punctuality across school.

At Gawber, we know that attendance and punctuality are some of the most important factors in being successful.

Some ways in which the School Council have promoted the importance of punctuality:

- We have sent a letter home to all parents, written by the School Council, discussing the importance of being on time.

- We have introduced a new punctuality award where every half term the class with the least amount of late marks will receive a certificate and a prize.

- We have written to the PTA to ask for funding towards the small prize.

- We have produced a child friendly video explaining the importance of punctuality. We even thought about how being punctual now can help us later in life. The video shows how being punctual affects ourselves and those around us.

Take a look at our letter which we sent out to parents about the importance of being on time.

We worked hard creating a video which shows why it's important to be punctual. In order to represent the children at Gawber, we spoke to a range of our peers. We asked them how they felt when they were late to school, what they might miss if they're late and what they do to try and prevent being late.
As a group, we then created 2 role plays. One shows what we think life will be like when we're older if we're punctual. The other shows what life could be like if we're often late. It was interesting to think about how our actions could affect others.
