Gawber Primary School follows the ‘1 Decision’ Scheme of Work for PSHE in Key Stage 1 and 2. The core of the programme is a series of videos with alternative endings together with engaging activities. The purpose of videos is to encourage and empower children to make positive choices and decisions for the characters, whilst learning the vocabulary, skills, and knowledge to support their own decision making now and in the future.
The ‘1 Decision’ Scheme of Work is based around 3 Core Themes: Health and Wellbeing, Relationships and Living in the Winder World. These Core Themes are broken down into smaller units of work. These include:

Due to the sensitive nature of some topics (e.g Changing adolescent body, Puberty, Conception) letters will be sent home inviting parents in to watch the videos before it is taught. When requested, video can also be made available to watch online for any parents who are unable to make the meeting.
