Possible Attendance 2022/23
Most governors attend 3 x Full & 6 sub-committee over the year; so maximum attendance is 9.
The two main committees are Curriculum and Standards where we look strategically at school improvement including: the curriculum, assessment and data, staffing, special educational needs and leadership.
The Resources Committee has a strategic focus on the financial running of the school and will concentrate on such areas as: value for money, service level agreements, benchmarking, financial standards and staffing.
We also have smaller working parties as and when required. Currently, because of the financial challenges the school is facing, we have a small finance working party who meet more regularly to ensure every effort is being made to effectively manage school finance and resources.
As far as possible we allocate governors to committees based on a skills audit.
The minutes of meetings may be requested by parents and are to be available within five working days. A small charge for photocopying/admin may be applicable.
All governors have key areas or subjects that they monitor. This involves spending time with the leader of the specific area or subject they monitor in order to have a strategic overview of that area and to be aware of any important changes or actions. These monitoring meetings happen at least annually.
In the case of safeguarding and SEND monitoring visits happen each term.
