Keeping clean

At the start of each day, children will need to wash their hands when entering school before sitting down to do their morning tasks. Please remember that everyone needs to wash their hands so you need to wash them thoroughly but make sure you don’t dawdle! Please keep using your hand sanitiser and remember the ‘catch it, bin it, kill it’ rule too!  

Daily Mile 

We know that exercise is a great way to clear our minds and wake us up n the morning so Lucky Pennies need their trainers in school so that they can complete a daily mile before we begin our learning! 

PE

PE will be every Wednesday afternoon. We like to get as much fresh air as we can so please make sure you always have both an outdoor and indoor PE kit to hand. Make sure you have suitable footwear (and plenty of layers for the colder days that are heading our way!). It is a good idea to bring your PE kit in on Monday and take it home on Friday to get it washed. That way, it is always in school for PE lessons.

Spellings

Spellings will be sent home every Wednesday for you to learn. I will test you on these spellings each week. Check Class Dojo for the spellings as I will post them on there.  

Reading

Children in Class 5 are expected to read a few pages of their reading book at home every evening. They can read to themselves or aloud to an adult but this must be recorded in their reading record and signed by an adult. These will be checked every week by Mrs Gorthorpe. The children will earn ‘Reading Dojos’ when they read at home.

Homework

Homework will be set via ClassDojo. Children can access the homework on their Dojo portfolio and post their completed work on their portfolio read for and adult to check it.

Residential
